The Sushi Bar Review
Verdict
The Sushi Bar at Ngee Ann City is my go-to spot whenever I’m in the mood for some delicious sushi without breaking the bank.
Their sashimi and wagyu don are my top picks, as the flavors are simply amazing. I especially love the umami taste of the wagyu don when paired with the egg.
The sushi rice was also perfectly cooked and the staff always greeted me with warm hospitality.
To complete my experience, I always order the Sapporo draft beer during their happy hour. It’s definitely great value for money!

The Sushi Bar Food & Price

The Sushi Bar’s Sashimi Platter ($45.60) is a personal favorite of mine. It’s always incredibly fresh with the perfect texture and flavor.
Their 5 kinds of sashimi include salmon, tuna, yellowtail, swordfish, and octopus, but we asked them to remove the octopus.
Look at how fresh each sashimi looks! Really high-quality sashimi.

The Salmon Aburi Roll ($18.90) is filled with fresh and creamy salmon that’s been lightly torched to give it a smoky flavor.
The rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the addition of avocado and cucumber added a refreshing crunch.

The Ebi Tempura ($28.90) features five large tiger prawns that are lightly battered and deep-fried to perfection, giving them a crisp and crunchy texture that pairs perfectly with the juicy and tender tiger prawn meat inside.
The dish is served with a side of tempura sauce that adds a tangy and savory flavor to the prawns, making it a must-try dish for seafood lovers.

Their Sirloin steak 200g ($35.90) is decent but definitely not mind-blowing as it lacks umami.
It was cooked to perfection at medium and has a decent crust to it.

My personal favorite star dish is certainly the Wagyu Don ($36.90).
The sushi rice is of good quality and the wagyu beef has a delicious umami flavor, especially when paired it with egg and fried garlic.

To complement all the dishes above, I always go for their Sapporo Beer ($6.90) during happy hour, compared to $9.00 during normal hours.
The Sushi Bar Service
I always enjoy the service in The Sushi Bar. Uninterrupted, friendly, and quick service.
I usually receive my meal within 15 minutes of ordering. Depending on where you are seated, the table might feel a little cramped sometimes.
