Sushi Tei Review
Sushi Tei is one of my favourite spots for sushi in Singapore. They serve fresh Japanese at a fairly decent price. Sashimi salad with their signature Sushi Tei dressing is so refreshing. A4 wagyu beef here melts in your mouth. Free flow of ginger, wasabi, and green tea. The sashimi here is fresh and they are generous with its cut.
Things I like
- Affordable and fresh sushi.
- Convenient location in Singapore as they have many outlets.
- Food quality is very consistent as I regularly eat here.
- Quick service. Food is normally served within 10 minutes of ordering.
Sushi Tei Food & Price
Sushi Tei is probably my top regular spot for Japanese food. Standard coming here I will order their free refill Ice Green tea $1.20. Condiments such as ginger, soya sauce and wasabi are given at every table.
As a starter, I usually get their Sushi Tei Sashimi Salad $12.80. You can add up to two Sushi Tei Signature dressing per salad. You can tell from the image that the sashimi given was generous and fresh.
The signature dressing is the real reason why this is my favourite salad. It is sweet and sour which makes the salad very refreshing.
For sushi, I typically go for their Tuna Salad $4.20, Maguro Sushi (2pcs) $6.50, Tamago Mentai $4.20, Tamago Maki $3.30, and their signature Kani Mentai Mayo Roll $11.80.
Each sushi has a great rice texture that holds the sushi well. Sashimi and egg are fresh and generous. If you love Mentai Mayo, do try the Kani Mentai Mayo Roll.
For temaki/handroll, I usually order their Ebi Tempura $5.80 and soft-shell crab $7.30. The rice in temaki is quite a lot so it is easy to get full on this.
Lastly, something new I tried was their A4 Tochigi Wagyu Don $29.80. The beef definitely was worth the price. It melts in your mouth and you can basically use your lips to tear the meat. The Wagyu is covered with some sweet sauce which elevates the flavor of the beef.
Sushi Tei Service
I always enjoy the service in Sushi Tei. Uninterrupted and quick service. I usually receive my meal in less than 10 minutes of ordering. Tea is automatically refilled by their waiter before asking.
