Best Sarawak Laksa In Singapore
Looking for the best Sarawak Laksa in Singapore? As Sarawakian, I am quite picky with my Sarawak Laksa.
A typical bowl of Sarawak laksa contains thick rice vermicelli, beansprouts, prawns, chicken breast, egg, calamansi, coriander, chili paste and the highlight of the dish which is the broth. The taste of Sarawak laksa broth has a fine balance of aromatic herbs and spices with a subtle hint of sourish and spicy notes.
After visiting many Sarawak Laksa shop in Singapore, I have concluded that there is only two Sarawak Laksa that matches my taste bud.

1. Tasty Sarawak Kolo Mee
Tasty Sarawak Kolo Mee’s Sarawak laksa ($5/$6) comes with all the authentic ingredients such as thick rice vermicelli, prawn, shredded chicken, omelet, coriander, lime and belacan (Shrimp paste).
Their homemade Sarawak belacan has a prawn-rich flavor which will enhance the taste of the dish.

2. Ian Tau Ban Seng Sarawak Laksa
Ian Tau Ban Seng Sarawak Laksa has a few different sizes from normal with 2 prawns ($5.90) to jumbo with 2 tiger prawns ($9.90). I usually just order two normal size bowls for myself.
Nitpicking here, I would also prefer the chicken to be a little bigger as sometimes the chicken was peeled so small that the texture of the chicken becomes lumpy. Nevertheless, it is still one of the best Sarawak laksa in Singapore.

3. Sarawak Delicacy Laksa & Kolo Mee
Sarawak Delicacy Laksa & Kolo Mee is one of Singapore’s most popular places for Sarawak Food. A typical waiting time of 45minutes and finish usually by 12.30 pm on the weekend based on my experience.
The Sarawak Laksa broth taste and ingredients used were great except for the thin rice vermicelli.
