Hua Bee Restaurant Review
Verdict
Hua Bee is one of the few old-school restaurants still around in Tiong Bahru. They are serving their fish ball dish in all kinds of noodles. If you can handle spice as your first dish of the day, you can go for their spicy noodle dish but if you can’t, you can go for their plain fish ball noodle. The food itself does not scream quality but rather is more nostalgic. Couple that together with the old aunties serving and the restaurant’s old-school vibe, I would say Hua Bee is one of the must-visit restaurants in Tiong Bahru.
Things I like
- Old-school vibe restaurant
- Very nostalgic. Brings me back to my childhood days eating breakfast with my family.
Hua Bee Restaurant Food & Price

Hua Bee serves their fish ball noodle either dry or soup base at $4.50 each bowl. You can select your noodles such as lao shu fen, yellow noodles, thin noodles, curly noodles, and thin vermicelli.
Their dry lao shu fen has a hint of spice to it alongside the proteins in soup such as fishball, minced meat, dumplings, and fish cake.

I enjoyed their all-in-one yellow noodle in fish ball soup as it was early in the morning, and my stomach is not ready for the spices.

As the portion is not huge, we decided to order a third bowl, Mee Kia since they were famous for this. It was a little overcooked but still, taste decent. The soup accompanied was the same fish ball soup with onion in it.

For drinks, we got their kopi c peng for $1.80.
Hua Bee Restaurant Service
We were lucky to get our seats right away as the previous person just left. After our meal, they were already a long queue forming outside the restaurant around 12 pm on a weekday.
The shop was run by aunties, and they were friendly. Someone it feels good, with the old-school vibe and senior aunties serving just brings back good old memories.
