Wee Nam Kee Hainanese Chicken Rice Review
Verdict
Wee Nam Kee serves decent Hainanese chicken rice. Their Hainanese chicken was tasty but was serve fridge cold for my liking. Rice was mildly fragrant. I like that they provide ginger, chili and dark sauce to go along with the dish. Their chicken rice soup tastes great. Char siew was more a mild version with no char on the meat. The roasted pork was tender and juicy though I would have preferred the skin to be a little more crispy.

Wee Nam Kee has a variety of Chinese food. We ordered their char siew rice ($4.30), small roasted pork ($8.50), Hainanese chicken ($8.90), dumpling soup ($6.40) and a plate of chicken rice ($1).
Wee Nam Kee is famous for their steam Hainanese chicken but I was a little disappointed that the Hainanese chicken felt like they just took it out of the fridge as it was way colder than usual.
Their rice was mildly fragrant with a hint of ginger note. A decent plate for chicken rice.
Their char siew was more on the mild side as well. I was hoping for some char marks on the meat with a caramelize bbq sauce over it.
One of my favorite proteins when it comes to a chicken rice shop is their roasted pork. The roasted pork here was tender and juicy but lacks the crispiness of the skin.
Lastly, we also order their dumpling soup. The dumpling meat portion was generous and the chicken broth was both tasty and aromatic.
Their chicken rice soup tastes great like the actual chicken rice soup you had in mind. The chili was a little watery and spicy. However, their ginger and dark sauce was decent.

The service staff here were friendly. Food was delivered to us within 10 minutes of ordering even though the restaurant was running at 80% occupancy.
