Verdict
Common Man Coffee Roasters is well known for their specialty coffee in Singapore. They are also a wholesaler, cafe, and academy, and their skills are shown in their food and drinks. You can almost always expect a great cup of coffee here with great milk pouring technique, perfect milk foam, and fresh coffee beans. Their full breakfast here is one of the most popular dishes which has your classic food inside such as sausage, eggs, beans, mushrooms, and tomatoes. This cafe is almost always packed so the seats inside are a little cramped.
Things I like
- One of the best cups of coffee – Great latte art, foam texture, and fresh beans.
- Consistency of food here – Been here a few times over the years, but the food still has the same great consistent taste.
Nitpicking
- Table settings are too close to each other. Not ideal for people who want to have great conversations indoors.
Common Man Coffee Roasters Food & Price
My typical meal when coming to Common Man Coffee Roaster Is their Full Breakfasts ($30). It has two free-range organic eggs in any style, bacon, pork sausage, herbed roma tomato, hash browns, portobello mushrooms, and house-made baked chorizo bean served with artisanal sourdough or wholemeal toast.
For dessert, I tried their Churros ($13). It comes with a crispy and sugar-dusted dough with caramel and chocolate sauce. The churros are crispy outside and fluffy inside. I would have liked it more if they had some Nutella dipping but the churros itself was great.
The Hot Chocolate ($6) here was made to perfection. Great love shape visual, creamy and smooth milk foam with a strong chocolate taste. Though strong it had just the right sweetness to it.
Last, we had their Ice Latte ($6.50). I was feeling a little hot that day so I had a nice chilled coffee to cool myself down. Latte had a great balance of sweetness and bitterness from the beans.
Common Man Coffee Roasters Service & Ambient
Do expect a waiting time of 20 to 30 minutes if you are coming here during brunch or lunch hour. This cafe is almost always packed during those timing. The staff here are friendly and attentive. Though the place is quite big, you can easily call the staff when in need.
The tables were very close to each other so having a private conversation there is almost non-existent. As the cafe is full, the noise level here is also quite prominent.
