The Assembly Ground Review
The Assembly Ground serves good burgers and pasta. Well, those are the two food that I tried and it was nice. The assembly ground burger had a 130g grilled Australian wagyu steak in it and if you like steak and burgers, you would not be disappointed. The beef was tender, with decent umami flavors, juicy, and a bun that can hold it all together without falling apart. The truffle carbonara was al dente which is my personal favorite doneness of pasta. The truffle was not only fragrant but you can actually taste it in the pasta and the sauce tasted like mushroom soup.
Things I like
- Assembly ground burger. The beef was tender, with decent umami flavors, juicy, and a bun that can hold it all together without falling apart.
- Truffle carbonara was al dente instead of our typical over cook pasta which I know many people like.
- Truffle carbonara needs more cheese.
The Assembly Ground Food & Price
The seating area at The Assembly ground. I like the quote, “Drink a good coffee and read a good book”. Should have ordered their coffee instead of the cooler. More on this later.
To start, we order their truffle carbonara ($25.00). You can actually smell the truffle coming to you as the waiter serves it. A lot of time, the fragrant of the truffle may be strong but taste very mild but in this case, you can actually taste a good amount of truffle in the pasta. The pasta was al dente which is my preferred pasta doneness. The flavor was leaning more towards a good bowl of mushroom soup, would have preferred more cheese in the pasta.
Next, I order their Assembly Ground Burger ($25.00). It had a 130g grilled Australian wagyu steak in it and if you like steak and burgers, you would not be disappointed. The beef was tender, with decent umami flavors, juicy, and a bun that can hold it all together without falling apart. The curly fries here were served crispy and fresh which is definitely a plus point.
For drinks, the Dirty Macha ($6.50) had a good creamy and smooth texture. Did not really taste the coffee in it but the drink overall was good.
I saw online that their Honey Cabana ($5.50) was nice but the drink makes me think about what flavor is it. Can’t really pinpoint the flavor other than the honey. It was refreshing but I would go for their regular coffee next time.
The Assembly Ground Service & Ambient
To our surprise, the shop was not crowded during peak lunchtime on weekdays. The staff was friendly and prompt but could use some training as we had a hard time communicating.
The cafe had a nice and cozy environment, quiet so I like it.
