Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse Review

Verdict

Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse is an Italian steakhouse on Mohamed Sultan Road. They are famous for their Bistecca Fiorentina Signature T Bone, a 900g to 1.1kg massive steak. The steak was juicy inside and well charred on the outside. The flavours of the fats have a good amount of umami flavour and sweetness to them.

The Bistecca Salumi Platter is also a must-try dish as it is fresh, rich in flavour and according to my Italian friend, it tastes almost as good as home.

If you like Italian desserts such as Tiramisu, Sticky Pudding and Panna Cotta, you would be please to know Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse serves good Italian desserts as well.

Things I like

  • The steak is cooked to perfection. Rich umami flavours, juicy steak, and well char on the outside.
  • Italian desserts were all great. The taste and texture are on point.
  • Salumi Platter was fresh, salty the Italian way, and had just the right thickness.

Nitpicking

  • The hospitality here could be more attentive given the hefty price tag.

Bistecca Fritte
Bistecca Fritte

For starters at Bistecca, we order their Bistecca Fritte $13 which is steak fries with sea salt and mixed herbs. I like that the steak fries had just the right thickness to maintain the crispiness outside and fluffiness inside.

Bistecca Salumi Platter
Bistecca Salumi Platter

Their Bistecca Salumi Platter $38 was rich in flavours, fresh and also had the right thickness to it. This makes every bite bursting with the right amount of flavour and texture. The platter comes with prosciutto di parma, morcon iberico, lonza, smoked coppa, and olives. You can also add artisanal cheese for an additional $16.

Bistecca Carne
Bistecca Carne

We also tried the Bistecca Carne $28. It is a wagyu steak tartare mixed with anchovies, fried capers and topped with quail egg yolk. For those that have not tried or are scared to try steak tartare before because of the rawness of the beef, you are missing out. The wagyu here is so fresh and the combination of flavours just goes so well with each other.

Bistecca Asparagi

I know, we order so many appetisers! Their Bistecca Asparagi $18 is char-grilled asparagus, and salsa Bernese which goes well with some steak. I liked how big and fresh the asparagus was.

You can see from the picture, the steak is juicy inside and well charred on the outside. Rich in umami flavour mixed with their speciality salt to elevate the taste of the steak.

Bistecca Ribeye 400g

If you are looking for an individual steak, you can try their Bistecca Ribeye steak 400g $94. It is an Angus 200 days grain-fed, MBS2/3 from Australia. Though the marbling score here is lower, it still has a rich umami flavour due to it being a ribeye cut. Almost all bite of this steak has a small piece of thick fat attached to it which gives it the extra kick of flavour.

For dessert, we had their tiramisu $15, panna cotta $16 and some sticky pudding $16. If you like Italian desserts, you will definitely not be disappointed here. Flavours and texture were on point.

Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse Service

The service here is decent, with nothing much to shout about. Waiting time for your steak may take up to 30 minutes. It would be great if they could up their hospitality to be more attentive, friendly and personalised to match their price tag.

The restaurant is usually packed so do make your reservation here at least two to four weeks in advance.
